I am a West African drummer, born in Senegal. I host regular events in London and in Dakar. Before arriving in the UK, I spent many years learning and “collecting” traditional rhythms from Senegal, Mali, and Guinea. In Senegal, I was a soloist in many Ballets, notably the Batogai ballet at the Blaise Senghor Cultural Centre in Dakar. I has had the opportunity to play the djembé with maestros, Modoun Khoulé (Mali), Idy Kanté (Mali), and in 2009 with the great international maestro, Mamady Keita (Guinea), during a professional workshop organised by the Ministry of Culture. I now share my time between Dakar (Senegal) and London, teaching drums in regular classes and workshops, and performing in live shows
