Taste West Africa: Cooking, Sharing & Discovery
Join us for a warm and interactive journey through West African food. Together we'll discover flavours and traditions from Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal, prepare and taste selected dishes, enjoy homemade drinks, and share the stories and culture behind the food
What you will experience
We’ll welcome you with the warmth and hospitality that are at the heart of West African gatherings, starting with a homemade drink such as Bissap (hibiscus) or our fresh Ginger drink. Together, we’ll explore ingredients, cooking techniques and food traditions connected to Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal. Depending on the menu for your session, you may take part in preparing a signature dish such as Yassa, Thieboudienne/Thiebou Guinar, Attieket, or another traditional dish, alongside a smaller bite, accompaniment or dessert. This is more than simply preparing a meal. As we cook and eat together, we'll share the stories behind the dishes, how they are enjoyed at home and at celebrations, and the role food and hospitality play in bringing families and communities together. We'll finish by sitting together to enjoy what we've prepared, accompanied by conversation and a homemade drink. The exact menu may vary by session, giving guests an opportunity to discover different flavours and traditions from across West Africa.
